In
a small Indiana town, Kim Riot picked up a paint brush at age
5 and proceeded to paint her face in the manner of Black Sabbath
's self-titled album cover. An appropriately chosen black sheep
of the family, she turned her back on practicality and decided
that the only way to excel in life was to graduate with a non-money
making, trivial, and subjective degree. She has worked slogging
tacos, delivering newspapers, as an art museum grunt, and a puppeteer.
Her day job suffices to manage her exorbitant music budget, so
a moonlighting journalism career replaces the daily monotony.

Making
the most of heavy metal connoisseurship, she gorges on a steady
palette of extreme metal, occultism, rarely published zines, and
60s-70s biker flicks. Sometimes, those themes even show up in
her art. When not rifling through rare books and manuscripts,
she enjoys huffing two-stroke exhaust, viking fashion accessories,
and insurgent bicycle gangs.
